Southeastern Virginia Health System operates a Pharmacy Assistance Program at each of its locations. These programs are run by pharmaceutical companies to provide free medications to individuals who cannot afford to buy their medications. Most brand name drugs are found in these programs. Southeastern Virginia Health System offers assistance with these programs voluntarily. There is no fee to help our patients complete the applications nor is there a charge by the drug companies to review the applications. Although each drug company has its own set of criteria, generally to qualify, you must be a U.S. Citizen or legal resident, have no prescription insurance coverage and have an income of 200% of the Federal Poverty Level. Ask to speak to one of our Pharmacy Assistance Coordinators to see how we can help you with this process.
