Fees

Peninsula Institute for Community Health is a community health center that provides its services on a sliding fee scale based on family size and income for all patients who qualify. Patients must bring proof of income (a W-2, a pay stub, or a copy of a tax return). If these documents are not available, patients must sign a notarized statement attesting to the fact that they are aware that discounted fees are supplemented by federal dollars and any misrepresentation of eligibility is fraudulent use of federal funds. When the sliding fee level is determined, you are expected to pay the bill. Payment schedules for larger account balances are also available.

PICH accepts all major insurances, which we file at no charge to the patient. To ensure proper billing, a current insurance card must be presented at each visit.  Co-pays must be paid at the time of visit.

Insurance coverage does not affect eligibility for sliding fee services as all patients are screened for reduced costs for medical care.

Reduced charges also apply to hospital visits by PICH physicians. However, reduced fees are not applied to hospital charges or referrals to other specialists.
